Join your friends from REI Co-op for an afternoon of fun and getting your bike ‘spring-ready’ including free basic bike tune-ups, a guided bike ride, bike light giveaways, an opportunity to win prizes, and a chance to enter our winter sweepstakes for a $350 REI gift card!
REI will be offering a variety of activities including:
- Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition (MassBike) Guided Bike Ride- Meet at 11 a.m. at the corner of Park Drive and Riverway roads (the start of the Muddy River Pathway across the street from REI Boston/Fenway; GPS coordinates: 42.344507, -71.104461) for a free, guided 10-mile bike ride through the Esplanade area, led by local members of the Boston cycling community. The ride will depart at 11:30 a.m. and will last approximately 90 minutes, and will include a few stops. Register here for the ride. Helmets are required and participants are encouraged to bring ride snacks, water, and a flat kit. If it is actively raining or snowing, the ride will be postponed to Sunday, February 26 at the same time and place.
- Free Basic Bike Tune-up and Inspection- If your bicycle needs a little love since the last time you used it, join REI bike techs rink-side (at the Rink at 401 Park) for a free basic bike tune-up and inspection before hitting the pavement this spring from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Look for the green REI tent outside of the ice skate rental tent for bike drop-off and pick up a free bike light provided by MassBike’s Lights Brigade Program.
- Ice Skating- The Rink at 401 Park will be open for ice skating from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Click here for more information about the ice rink and to make reservations. Reservations are highly encouraged. Check out additional events and program happening near the ice rink here.
Parking for the ice rink and REI Boston is located in the 401 Park Building (Landmark Center) and the garage entrance is on Fullerton Street. Validated parking is available on the basement floor of REI and costs $10 for under 3 hours. The REI Boston Store hours are as follows: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Click here for more store information.
REI is proud to return this winter season as the presenting sponsor for the Rink at 401 Park, a seasonal outdoor ice rink, open until March 5 (weather permitting). REI Co-op Members also receive free ice skate sharpening services all season long** (Boston/Fenway store location only).
**One skate sharpening service is available per member per visit and proof of membership required. Upon inspection, REI reserves the right to reject providing ice skate sharpening services based on the condition of the equipment. Equipment must be clean and free of rust and damage to qualify. Skate sharpening services are only available at REI Co-op Boston and offered through the end of February.
