Invest time for your balance!
Although many associate the loss of balance with older ages, physical balance actually begins to decline between forty and fifty years of age. This is serious stuff because, according to the National Institutes of Health, one in three people over the age of sixty-five experience a significant fall per year.
Balance is an essential part of a healthy life. Luckily, yoga is an excellent practice to engage and strengthen the muscles involved in balance. In this four-week series we’ll take a deeper dive into:
· how to use props and wall space to find the muscles used in balance
· targeting the muscle groups used in balance to identify the places you need to strengthen and the places where you are already strong
· building yoga postures from the ground up to create a strong physical foundation for balance
· holding space for struggle as inspiration as you continue to fortify your balance practice and build your confidence in the process
This four-part course can be taken at your own pace. You will receive access to a video session every week. The course will also include a weekly Zoom check-in with Elizabeth during which she will answer questions, and we can all share and support one another as a community.
