Recorder virtuoso Aldo Abreu joins Duo Maresienne (Carol Lewis, viola da gamba; Olav Chris Henriksen, baroque lute) in sonatas by Bach and Wassenaer, as well as two seldom-heard works for recorder and lute: a concerto by Baron and a partita by Sylvius Leopold Weiss. There will also be a fantasie for solo viola da gamba by Telemann.

Aldo Abreu, recorder concert artist, has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Central America and his native Venezuela. A frequent guest soloist with the American Bach Soloists in California, he has been concerto soloist with Solisti New York, Handel and Haydn Society, and Boston Baroque, among others. He teaches at New England Conservatory, Boston University, and the Amherst Early Music Festival and Institute.
Carol Lewis and Olav Chris Henriksen perform frequently in recitals individually and together, as well as with internationally acclaimed ensembles including the Boston Camerata, Hespèrion XXI, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Emmanuel Music, Capriccio Stravagante, Waverly Consort, and Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.
