COME TO THE OPENING RECEPTION "From Life: Drawings by Dan Hofstadter," a solo show at the trendy Atlantic Works Gallery, 80 Border Street, in East Boston -- Sunday 11/5, from 2 - 5:00 pm. Refreshments served. This artist always keeps his sketchbook by his side, a constant companion to his work as an abstract painter and art-writer. His drawings are direct, perceptual, unmediated by tools. Shown at the gallery are freehand landscapes – responses to wherever he was living at the time - along with portraits and figure studies.
The Atlantic Works Gallery is situated in a marvelous 1893 brick building, originally built and owned by a major steamship boiler-and-engine company. Renovated in 2010, it has largely housed artist studios. There is free street parking, as well as a small lot directly in front of the gallery’s ground-floor entrance.
There will also be a Third Thursday Reception on 11/16 from 6 - 9:00 pm.
Exhibition is open Fridays and Saturdays 2-6pm during the month of November.
