Calling all Korean culture enthusiasts and community champions! On April 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM, you're invited to a groundbreaking fundraising event that will help write cultural history at the Peabody Essex Museum.
The Yu Kil-Chun Gallery of Korean Art and Culture isn't just an exhibit – it's a powerful statement about Korean heritage and arts, bridging historical narratives from the Joseon Dynasty to contemporary American experiences. It is also a permanent collections gallery, not a temporary exhibition. Named after a pioneering Korean intellectual and independence activist, this gallery represents Korean resilience, creativity, and the global impact of Korean culture and arts.Yu Kil-Chun was also Korea's first international scholar, who visited Salem as part of the inaugural Korean diplomatic delegation to the U.S.
