The Newton Centre Bowl comes alive with music and dancing with the music of GUMBO - a seven-piece band featuring the music of New Orleans including tunes by The Meters, Dr. John, Jon Cleary, Professor Longhair, John Boutte, among others. With vast experience and talent, they always deliver the highest possible level in every performance. GUMBO brings passion, artistry, and a love of playing in every note they perform. Great pride is taken in being 100% authentic in the music that they love to play; resulting in an exciting, exhilarating musical performance.
Their stage is the open space next to the Newton Centre playground and just down the hill from the Tyler Terrace hut. With free open-air seating in this vast park space, there is plenty of room for families, friends, groups large and small to come together and enjoy diverse musical styles. Bring along a blanket, a chair a picnic dinner, and join us for these summer performances in the park!
The park is a short distance from Newton Centre where there is plenty of parking and restaurants for you to choose from.
Additional parking is available on Tyler Terrace and at the Mason Rice School parking lot. Check our website for updates on any unexpected changes to the schedule.
