The mind is a powerful instrument, and like all powerful instruments, it can be used in helpful and harmful ways. Mindfulness is an effective tool for learning about and working with the mind, allowing us to harness our internal resources for strength, resilience, wellness, and creativity instead of falling victim to the toxic effects of stress. This program will explore the science and practice of mindfulness, the impact of stress on the mind and body, and practical tools and approaches for employing mindfulness in a fast-paced, high-stress world.

Speaker Bio:
Ben Karlin has been practicing meditation for over a decade and a half and has traveled around the world studying how different cultures and traditions approach this ancient practice. He began teaching meditation and mindfulness at a health clinic in northern Thailand, helping patients take a more active role in maintaining their health through a deeper understanding of the mind and body. Since then, Ben has worked with individuals, businesses, and organizations worldwide, founding Free Form Minds to empower people with an awareness of the inner resources available to them. He is also a qualified MBSR instructor trained at the UMASS Medical School Center For Mindfulness.
