Join us on the first Thursday of every month for a dynamic evening of sanctuary and community. Museum admission is free from 3 pm through 9 pm and programs kick off at 5 pm. Explore the magic of the Museum’s gardens and galleries at night, stop by Café G for dinner, snacks and drinks, and enjoy an evening in which music connects our voices to provide a space for self-reflection, support, and healing.
During December’s Free First Thursday, visit the Living Room and reflect with Roxbury-based spoken word artist Amanda Shea as she shares a riveting performance of original poetry. In the Palace, enjoy Boston-based DJ, DJ KNSZWRTH spinning in the Courtyard as you explore Isabella's collection and the special exhibition Mary Ellen Mark: A Seattle Family, 1983-2014 in the Fenway Gallery.
In the New Wing, celebrate the works of famed painter Édouard Manet with the fall exhibition Manet: A Model Family, and discover the stories behind the relationships depicted in his paintings.
Get creative in the Bertucci Education Studio and create an abstract woven portrait of family, designed by Polly Thayer Starr Visiting Artist Daniela Rivera.
And as you leave for the evening, don’t forget to check out Mickalene Thomas: Sandra She’s a Beauty, 2009 on the Anne H. Fitzpatrick Façade.
