Emerson College’s Office of Graduate Studies will host a free screening of the documentary Join or Die on Wednesday, November 6th at 6 p.m. at the Bright Family Screening Room in the Paramount Center, located at 559 Washington St., Boston. The public is invited to attend the free event.
Join or Die is a film about why you should join a club—and why the fate of America depends on it. Follow the story of America's civic unraveling through the journey of Robert Putnam, whose legendary "Bowling Alone" research into American community decline may hold the answers to our democracy's present crisis. Audience members are encouraged to stay after the screening to participate in a discussion about the film, the concept of social capital and the impact it has on our health and well-being, as individuals and as a community. The Q&A will be led by the Emerson College Graduate Studies Interim Dean, Kimberly McLarin.
