Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (“Blue Cross”) and the City of Boston are providing $20 Bluebikes credits to residents aimed to alleviate the impact of transportation disruptions and provide accessible alternatives for affected individuals of the Green Line closure.
The $20 Bluebikes credits, redeemable for both traditional pedal bikes and the innovative ebikes recently introduced by the public bike share program, are available for use only during the closure and while supplies last.
Blue Cross is the title sponsor of Bluebikes, which is a publicly-owned bikeshare system owned by the municipalities and operated by Lyft.
Individuals can access the $20 credit using code MBTA2024 through the Bluebikes app; these credits are available to all, regardless of residency, and bikes can be borrowed from any of the nearly 500 Bluebikes stations across Greater Boston.
How to redeem:
1) Open the latest Bluebikes app
2) Click the heart on the "Get directions" search bar
3) Select "Paying for a ride" under "How to ride"
4) Select "Promotion and gift cards"
5) Select "See your rewards"
6) Click "Add promo code" then enter the code MBTA2024
