Two internationally acclaimed improvising musicians -- saxophonist and clarinetist Frode Gjerstad (pictured), from Norway, and cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm, long associated with the NYC and Chicago scenes, present two sets of improvised music with Boston stalwarts Jeb Bishop, trombone and Curt Newton, drums.


Gjerstad founded and led the Circulasione Totale Orchestra, among many other projects, and was awarded Norway's "Buddyprisen" in 2008 for his contributions to music.


Lonberg-Holm has led projects including Seval, the Valentine Trio, Terminal 4, and his ever-changing Lightbox Orchestra, and was a member of the Vandermark 5 and the Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet.
