Victoria Kichuk from Cocoa Beantown will give a cooking demonstration and lecture about chocolate.
From the moment we have teeth, someone, early in our life, fed us chocolate. From that time onward, it became a part of our lives through holidays, birthdays, celebrations, and more. Worldwide chocolate sales have soared as we reach for comfort and yearn to share joy. From neurotransmitters and ingrained positive associations, to the all-consuming power of nostalgia, chocolate lovers will gain insight on the healing powers of chocolate and its mystical ability to connect people through time and space.
This program takes place at the Nutrition Lab at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library. To attend, please register here.
Victoria Kichuk is a chocolate sommelier, writer, and tour guide for over 12 years, Victoria Kichuk brings a unique blend of storytelling ability with an accessible approach to food education that ushers audiences toward a new appreciation of chocolate while learning about its greater historical, geographical, scientific, or cultural context. Career highlights include serving as a corporate blogger for Lindt Chocolates and Hotel Chocolat (UK) and being one of a handful of invited participants in the first ever Colombia Chocolate Week in 2019, organized by the internationally recognized organization Uncommon Cacao. She was honored to receive a military challenge coin from the T.A.P.S. organization in 2022 for one of her programs, and she has been a featured presenter at the WGBH Wine & Food Fest, the New England Chocolate Festival, the Stay at Home with Chocolate Festival, and the DC Chocolate Festival.
