After a long winter, the Flume Gorge Path is open again-- and I can hardly wait to go check it out!
For this hike, we will meet at Wellington Parking Lot and drive up two hours to the Flume Gorge Visitor Center. We will then complete the two-mile loop to see the gorge in all its pristine glory.
Since it doesn't take too long to complete the Flume Gorge walk, my thinking is we can extend this trip by also hiking the nearby Basin Cascade Trail. We will make a short drive up to the Basin Cascade Trailhead, and then start to walk. Depending on timing/preferences, we can either do a 2-hr hike to see some of the waterfalls, or a 3-hr hike to Lonesome Lake and back (with the same waterfalls along the way).
Then, we pat out backs and go get some dinner! Good old Ridj-It style.
