On May 30th, during Mental Health Awareness Month, and one day before Memorial Day, Alex Wisch, a peak performance coach, a mental health activist, and a major depression survivor will take on an unbelievable fitness feat to bring awareness to the mental health crisis that affects so many of our nation's veterans and people of all backgrounds.
Our nation's veterans face several challenges in the years following their transition from active duty, such as isolation, weight gain, lack of purpose, and mental health issues. This year, due to the world pandemic, it has been especially trying on some veterans, leaving plenty of them isolated and, consequently, struggling more with their mental afflictions.
During the Fitness for Mental Health Feat Event, Alex will perform 1,000 pull-ups, 2,000 push-ups, and 3,000 squats, all within 10 hours. Additionally, he will do this while wearing a 24-pound weighted vest that symbolizes the weight of mental illness.
All funds raised directly benefit Team RWB, a nonprofit organization forging America's leading health and wellness community for veterans.
The event will be live-streamed from the Spartan's Instagram account starting at 8:00 a.m. Join us for the feat: https://www.instagram.com/spartan/
