Final self-guided outdoor tours of the Dorothy Quincy Homestead

Final Summer Outdoor Tour on Saturday, September 18, 2021!

The Dorothy Quincy Homestead Committee will offer the last in its outdoor tour series at the Dorothy Quincy Homestead from 11am – 2pm on Saturday, September 18. Docents will be available to welcome visitors and answer their questions as stories of the Edmund Quincy Family who first settled on the property in the 1630s are shared. It’s not too late to enjoy the last of the summer blooms in the lovely heritage gardens before fall is upon us. The lofty Joe-Pye weed is typically buzzing with the bees and butterflies gathering sweet nectar in late summer.

Tours will end promptly at 2 pm. A suggested donation of $5.00 to the Homestead is greatly appreciated. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the carriage house during their tour to see the lovingly restored Hancock carriage, a gift to John Hancock in 1777 from the owners of an American privateer, the Civil Usage. Due to on-going construction and conservation initiatives at the Homestead, the interior of the house remains closed to the public this season. Please note there are no public restroom facilities available on site. Current MA COVID-19 protocols will be followed during this event. The Homestead was purchased in 1904 by the NSCDA-MA. The grounds and buildings are owned by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and operated in cooperation with NSCDA-MA in a public-private partnership.
