Carlos Arredondo first appeared in the news in 2004 when he learned that his oldest son, Alex, had died fighting in Iraq. At the time Carlos was living in Hollywood, Fl but he spent most of his young adult life right here in Jamaica Plain. The Man in the Cowboy Hat follows Carlos for the next ten years as he evolves from a grief stricken father to an influential peace activist to the Boston Marathon bombing hero.
His story of public involvement and private struggle raises important questions about the impact of war on families, patriotism and the American Dream.
Join local filmmakers Janice Rogovin and Laura McLam for a Q&A after the film.

The Man in the Cowboy Hat is funded in part by Mass Humanities, which receives support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and is an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
