ANYONE can learn to draw!
This two day figure drawing workshop welcomes people of ANY skill level. It acts as an introductory overview to the figure drawing method at ARA Boston, beginning with a very simple line drawing all the way to a fully rendered figure. Model will be nude.
The first day will begin with a brief lecture and demo. Students will then begin to work on what is called a construct. By the end of the first day, students can expect to have a fully detailed line drawing, setting them up nicely for value on day two.
The second day will going over value and light logic, and how we use it to build form. By the end of the day students can expect to leave with a complete understanding of our approach to figure drawing and rendering.
John’s teaching method includes one on one critiques, and demos, where necessary. The workshop will be done in charcoal.
