Join us for a Festive Stoneware Luminary Tree Making Class hosted by Tracy from Hoamsy!
Let's get festive and make some cute holiday decor from scratch! You will learn the basics of hand-building with clay, and sculpt and glaze 1-2 of you own unique ceramic trees. You can keep it simple and minimalist, or get as intricate as you like within the class time. This experience makes a great outing to get into the spirit of the holiday season. You'll have art to remember it by or to gift to someone special! After the experience, the instructor will bring your pieces to her studio to dry completely, and fire in a kiln. This transforms them into strong, durable stoneware. When this process is complete, you can either pick your piece up at the venue or have them mailed to an address of your choosing. This class is open to ages 8+. We will be using hole punches, needle tools and scoring tools to shape and adhere clay. They are not particularly sharp but please use your discretion when booking. Hope to see you there!! Important notes on logistics: Due to multiple factors, the drying and firing process can take up to 3 weeks. I will keep you informed throughout the process and let you know when everything is through the kiln. If you've chosen pickup, there will be a pick up day at the venue scheduled in advance. If you prefer to pick up from my studio in Lowell just message me and we can coordinate separately. If your piece is complete sooner and you've chosen shipping, I'll ship it as soon as possible, so please make sure i have your address at check in! All items that are shipped are well wrapped and padded to protect them during transit and I anticipate that any shipped pieces will arrive in their intended condition! Because the shipping itself is not within our control, there is always a small risk of damage, so please factor this into your ticket choice as there is no recourse we can take. Thank you!!
