Kids will also get to enjoy the booming brass and rousing percussion of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.
And each year, the CSO hosts a talented young string performer from the “El Sistema”-inspired Boston String Academy, a nonprofit providing rigorous string instrument instruction to children in the underserved communities of Chinatown and Dorchester.
This year, soloist William Parkes will join us to perform Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1.
Tickets are available at this link. We hope we'll see your family at the show!
And by the way! As part of its mission to forge strong community ties through music, the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra highlights a local nonprofit as a Spotlight Partner during each concert series.
The Spotlight Partner for this concert is Sibling Connections. Sibling Connections is the only organization in Massachusetts designed solely for strengthening the sibling bond of children living separated by the foster care system. Its programs support the creation of enduring family relationships and community connections, as well as the opportunity for youth to be surrounded by peers with similar lived experiences.
