As the weather gets cooler and the days shorter, why not try out a new fall project inspired by the beauty of deCordova’s fall foliage? Build and decorate with rich autumnal colors clay jewelry dishes modelled from actual leaves. Creations will be fired and ready for use for the holidays.
Instruction, tools, materials, seating and work surfaces for building and decorating up to two pieces will be provided during this 1.5-hour outdoor family-style workshop.
A disinfecting station will be available, but you are also encouraged to bring your own hand disinfectant.
Courtyard public restrooms are available for use, and are disinfected by staff regularly. Social distancing and proper mask-wearing must be followed at all times at deCordova.
The workshop will be held in a gated area adjacent to the Ceramics Sculpture Studio (located behind the Store/Cafe building).
Please note: Although clay won’t permanently stain garments, participants are advised to wear suitable work garments while working with clay and glazes
Work will be fired and ready for pick up on November 6 and 7, or by appointment after these dates. You will be notified by email.
In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather, participants will be notified via email 48 hours in advance of cancellation or postponement of the event.
This workshop is designed for adults and families. Hot cocoa and cider will be available to accompany this festive workshop!
Registration includes instruction, supplies (tools, clay, glazes), refreshments, admission to the Park, and firing.
Admission starts at $40.
