Explore quaking bog natural history and identification with naturalist Boot Boutwell!
This beautiful Trustees of Reservations property includes Pine Hole Bog, a true northern bog and one of the few quaking bogs in the area. Bogs are unique natural areas which are home to some fascinating plants. We’ll look for cranberries, swamp horsetails, cotton grass (actually a sedge), poison sumac and a number of other typical bog plants along the bog boardwalk which will keep us high and dry. We’ll also explore the higher and drier habitats along the edges of the bog. The walk will focus on plant ID as well as fun and interesting natural history. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to register if accompanied by a registered adult.
Space is limited; pre-registration is required. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to register if accompanied by a registered adult.
Refund policy: Refunds must be requested no less than 7 days prior to your event date to be honored.
