Fall colors are all around us! Learn to do a granny square and link them together into a charming scarf. We'll cover these techniques:
- Crochet basics
- Chain
- Slip knot
- Double crochet
- Troubleshooting
- Scaling granny square sizes
Yarn color choices include:
- Black Dove (Black-White-Gray-Beige)
- Aran Cream (Beige-White-Light Brown)
- Warm Wheat (Yellow-Orange-Burnt Orange)
- White Citrus Twist (yellow, white, pink, orange)
Materials: this workshop uses a special yarn that's dyed in sections so there is minimal color change. However, feel free to bring your own yarn in single or multiple colors. We recommend a medium-weight yarn (size 4 or 5) in solid colors. If you plan to bring your own crochet hook, we recommend a 5mm or 5.5 mm crochet hook.
Duration: 2 hours. This timeframe allows us to teach all the necessary steps to create a complete square, but you will need to finish the rest of the squares afterward to complete the scarf. You should expect to walk out with a granny square with at least three rounds and a solid understanding of how to make it bigger or with more colors. Printed instructions will be provided.
