FABRIC 2021 arts festival celebrates the triumph of the human spirit, through engaging and culturally rewarding multidisciplinary artistic interventions. At the Fall River Museum of Contemporary Art (FR MoCA), co-founders Harry Gould Harvey IV and Brittni Ann Harvey will present Group Exhibition #2 beginning May 14. The show will be a multi-disciplinary group exhibition including works from globally and locally exhibiting artists. The show will include photography, drawings, paintings, sculptures, wearable art, site specific installations, workshops, consumable goods, performances, and more. Group Exhibition #2 hopes to focus on representation, consumption, and the intersection of art and labor with emphasis on the struggle to sustain under inequitable forces.
FR MoCA was founded in 2020, initiated from support by the FABRIC Arts Festival. FR MoCA is located on the ground floor of one of Fall River’s remaining historic granite mills and active textile manufacturing facility, Merrow Manufacturing. The collaborative support of FABRIC Arts festival and Merrow Manufacturing has allowed artists Harry Gould Harvey IV and Brittni Ann Harvey to establish FR MoCA as a non-profit and non-collecting art museum with the SouthCoast Community Foundation as its fiscal sponsor. FR MoCA’s Group Exhibition #2 will be open on May 14 from 4pm-7pm and on May 15 from 4pm-8pm.
