Life Is a Beautiful Place: A Radical Collaboration
March 15- May 13, 2018
Opening Reception Thursday, March 15th from 6 - 8 PM
Life Is a Beautiful Place: A Radical Collaboration connects art and science to create a visual, visceral language about global environmental change and its implications for life on earth. This contemporary exhibition brings together a select group of women artists whose art expresses the intimate connections between human beings and the natural world. While scientific evidence provides us with information and warnings, these artists create work that we can feel, internalize, and remember. Through these connections, their collective work becomes a powerful agent for change, motivating us to maintain sustainable lifestyles and preserve the health of our world. By emulating the power and beauty of nature, their art reminds us that life is a beautiful place worthy of protection.
Exhibiting artists include: Jill Whitney Armstrong, Resa Blatman, Jillian Freyer, Sawool Kim, Constance Jacobson, Emily Lombardo, Anne Lyman Powers, Amy Ross, Rothchild, Karen Lee Sobol, Sara Zielinski, and Daphna Zik.
Life Is a Beautiful Place has been organized in part to help promote the work being done at The Center for Health and the Global Environment at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The Center is a trusted international leader for exploring the health effects of global environmental change
