Boston's Seaport is getting an interactive outdoor art installation for the 2019-20 winter season.
First debuted in Montreal, Entre les rangs—which in English means “between the rows”—will be installed in the Seaport Common at 85 Northern Ave from December 9th through February 2nd.
Take a sensory stroll through an urban field of some 28,000 flexible stems capped with white reflectors that oscillate, sparkle and resonate under the effect of wind and human walks. Entre les rangs is a tribute to fields of wheat that shimmer in the wind as the seasons pass.
The installation’s changing nature – depending on wind, precipitation, light (both natural and artificial) and human interaction – encourages visitors to return.
