About LaGue's Art
Traditionally LaGue’s work has been done in encaustic but recently she has painted with acrylics and has achieved a complex technique of layering that directs the viewer into multiple, lingering depths. Her subject matter emanates from spending part of her youth in Alaska. According to LaGue, “I was awed by the incredible vastness of the wild landscape. Gazing at the expansive skies and majestic mountains as a girl, I recognized that I was a small part of something much larger than myself”.
LaGue is a trained graphic design professional who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is passionate about sharing her art with others. Her work is in private collections; the corporate collection of BioMed Realty, Inc. and on permanent exhibit at the Encaustic Art Institute in Sante Fe, NM. LaGue maintains a gallery/work space at Gorse Mill Studios in Needham. For more info about LaGue and images of her art work visit laguewax.com
