Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1984, poet, pianist, and composer Eliot Cardinaux currently lives and works in Boston, as well as spending time in New York and Copenhagen with musicians such as Mat Maneri, Thomas Morgan, Kresten Osgood, Eivind Opsvik, Asger Thomsen, and Flin van Hemmen. He is known within the free-improvising community for his light-handed touch at the piano, and for his patience and clarity in developing musical and poetic ideas. His writing has been published in several journals, and he founded The Bodily Press. At this show, Eliot will celebrate the release of his new poetry collection Mouth like Straw, the Hand Half-Blind. Cardinaux’s first album as a leader, American Thicket, was released in 2016. For this show, Eliot will be joined by Jeb Bishop (trombone), Kit Demos (bass) and Gary Fieldman (drums).
