To celebrate Pride Month, our music and lessons are all coming from our queer community members. We hope you'll come celebrate with us!
*Pre-registration closes at 5pm the day before the event. There are limited walk-in spots, so please consider pre-registering as it helps our instructor plan! Save $5 off registration if you enroll by Saturday, 6/8!
**Important Note: Our event will be taking place in two locations, but I can only include one in this listing. Our workshop from 12–4 will take place at Salsa y Control in Allston at 161 Harvard Ave Unit 13b, and our 5–6:30 practica will be at our usual venue, Beacon Hill Friends House at 8 Chestnut St. in Beacon Hill.
This is the second of two workshops in Walk with Pride. Attending Part 1 is NOT required in order to attend Part 2.
Instructor: Lucas-Michael Jones of Balter Dance
Saturday, June 1, 12–4pm and 5–6:30pm
Walk with Pride: Footwork to Moves to Connection 1 12–4pm
Lucas-Michael presents two workshops on the benefits of footwork. Drawing from house, tango, ballroom and more, delve into diverse footwork systems. Discover how these techniques elevate your moves and connections.
Part 2 will focus on play. Part 2 will explore passes, whips, and ochos in a fusion context. Pre-registered attendees will receive an email with more information prior to the event.
Practice, 5–6:30pm (only open to workshop attendees)
We'll play some music, and you can dance! Lucas-Michael will be available to answer your questions, dance with you if you would like (don’t be afraid to ask!), and offer guidance to dancers of all skill levels. The practica is only open to people who signed up for the workshop.
