Join Matt Pollock, Eastie resident and director of HarborArts and Sea Walls Boston, for a guided eco street art tour of a massive series of public artworks created in East Boston as part of Pangeaseed Foundation’s global Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans program.
Presented by local public art initiative, HarborArts, and honorary conservation partner, the New England Aquarium, the Sea Walls Boston series features 19 massive murals in East Boston, painted in 2020 and 2021 by an all-star team of world-class artists. Each mural contains an important message that aims to inspire residents and visitors to foster a sense of ownership and pride for the artworks and our marine natural resources.
Matt will offer insight into the process of planning, producing, and installing large-scale public art installations and festivals, and share a perspective on the power of public art to bring people together and inspire positive change.
Walking tour will last 2 hours, covers approximately 2 miles of walking and visits 18 murals.
Our journey ends back at Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina, home to our outdoor Shipyard Gallery—Boston's largest outdoor art collection— where we'll enjoy an optional refreshing cider from Downeast Cider (21+) and chat all about the adventure.
