Find comfort as the Trinity Choirs, with orchestra, sing Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem at 5 pm on Sun., Oct. 30. Duruflé’s masterwork, completed shortly after World War II, stands among the most profound and wrenching choral pieces of the twentieth century.
Based entirely on the Gregorian chants for the 'Mass for the Dead', it was one of 81 works commissioned by the Vichy regime as an effort to relieve the severe unemployment during World War II.
