Famine, warfare, pestilential diseases: it is no wonder the European colonists to what became the United States drank a lot! And what they drank shaped their experiences in social, economic, and political terms. We’ll explore how the colonists used rum, cider, beer, and mead to assuage their thirst, while tasting samples ourselves to fully appreciate the history. To enhance the experience of learning and tasting, this class includes a tasting kit. Registration will close on Monday, January 18 at 6pm. If you don’t want the tasting kit, or prefer a list of suggested beverages, please email us at [email protected]. Tuition includes the tasting kit, which is deducted if you are buying your own beverages. Instructor: Kris Butler and Brian Bixby
