Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Irais Brito Hierrezuelo is a bass player and music educator pursuing his interest in contemporary music at Berklee College of Music.
A graduate of the Havana National School of Arts & Music, he has been a member of the Havana Youth Symphony, National Chorus of Cuba, and Charanga Habanera. Since enrolling at Berklee, he has performed with the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra and Harry Potter Soundtrack Orchestra.
Hierrezuelo has studied bass under Manuel Valdes, Orlando “Cachaíto” López, Juan-Carlos Formell, Luis Cojal, and Carlitos del Puerto. He enjoys experimenting with diverse genres, including Afro-Cuban, R&B, hip-hop, pop, rock, and blues. He is the founder of Di eVano and Irais Hierrezuelo & Tropicalia.
