Digital Photography for Beginners with Jen Barrows

Students working in all disciplines will learn digital photographic techniques including camera skills , digital workflow, RAW processing, file and color management. Students will engage with photographic process through a combination of in person and zoom demonstrations using their own work and equipment to demystify the process!
Required materials
Students should have access to a digital camera, preferably one that is capable of recording RAW images, a memory card, and access to Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop. Camera recommendation: DSLR. Please no "point and shoots". Students should bring their camera to the first class.
Jen Barrows
Jen barrows (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist and a Gravedigger’s Daughter whose personal research interests include the built environment and the commercial vernacular, craft, popular culture, and the socio-economics of urban and rural forms in North America.
She has fabricated permanent large scale public art pieces installed across the United States. Her solo artwork has been exhibited internationally. jen has an MFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University. She is the Director of Academic Computing and a Lecturer in Photography and Interdisciplinary Studies at Lesley Art + Design. Jen owns Gravedigger's Daughter, a contemporary art and darkroom space in MIdcoast Maine.
