In this workshop, participants will learn how to design a repeating pattern, transfer images, and carve blocks that connect and repeat to create large pattern-based prints. In the first class, we will work on creating designs and look at examples of what’s possible with this process. We will also have an opportunity to test print small rubber blocks and experiment with materials and tools. In the second class, participants will return with a fully carved block ready to print on large paper or fabric.


Workshop price includes the cost of blocks, inks, and carving tools. Students are responsible for bringing their own printing paper and newsprint. Some paper will be available for sale at the studio.


No prior experience is required.
