Please join us in our program series Navigating Diabetes Through Food and Community, a two-week program with online and in-person sessions at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library. We invite you to join one or many sessions where we will be learning / hearing from professionals who value scientific research and the important role community plays. Whether you have been diagnosed with diabetes, prediabetes, or live with someone with these diagnoses, you are welcome. Registration required for each session.
In this session, Nutritionist Christine Sinclair, MA, MS, RD, LDN and Chef Cynthia Haynes will lead a diabetic-food friendly cooking demonstration.

Christine Sinclair, MA, MS, RD, LDN leads health and wellness programs and initiatives for Stop & Shop in the Grove Hall and Boston areas. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, she is an advocate for cultural integration and community nutrition and has a passion for addressing chronic conditions through a food as medicine approach. She enjoys offering cooking demonstrations, developing and delivering nutrition programs and partnering with customers on creating a plan for healthful eating for life all while encouraging them to reach other life goals through a healthy lifestyle lens. She loves entertaining friends, cooking with her family and finding more ways to share laughs and have more gratitude moments.
Cynthia Haynes is a graduate of the acclaimed Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts and the University of Massachusetts - Boston. She also studied with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and has provided behind the scenes production for events such as the Boston Wine Expo at the Seaport World Trade Center, and the New England Food and Service Trade Show. In addition to her culinary talent, Cynthia has given back to the community as a selfless volunteer by preparing breakfast and lunch at a nonprofit shelter—the Women’s Lunch Place in Boston, Massachusetts. Currently she is working with The Cambridge Adult Literacy Program to help adults read and speak English and other adults in need of obtaining a GED or High School Diploma.
