Explore the art, symbolism, and joy in creating Pysanky. The Ukrainian pysanka egg was believed to possess an enormous power not only in the egg itself, which harbored the beginning of life, but also in the symbolic designs and colors which were written upon the egg.

In this workshop, you will be guided through the artistic transformation of a plain egg into a work of art. Celebrate the spring season as a skilled instructor leads you through the historic and intricate process of creating beautiful eggs in the Ukrainian Easter tradition.

This class is designed for all levels – from beginners who have little or no experience in writing pysanky, to experienced artists who are interested in learning this unique language and technique.

Join us for this workshop to learn the history and meanings behind this ancient language of colors and symbols. All materials would be provided.

deCordova’s programs are designed to welcome a wide range of ages and abilities.
