Join us for an evening of traditional and old-style Irish dance and music with a performance by the quartet Eight Feet Tall and social céilí dancing for all. This participatory dance practice is a fun and simple group experience.
No experience is needed and all dances will be taught – everyone is welcome!
About Eight Feet Tall:
Featuring traditional Irish dancers Rebecca McGowan and Jackie O’Riley (co-creators of From the Floor, 2022 Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellows in Choreography) and instrumentalists Dan Accardi (the Ivy Leaf) and Armand Aromin (the Ivy Leaf, the Vox Hunters), Eight Feet Tall approaches steps and tunes with both intense respect for tradition and keen sensitivity to the shared rhythmic experience of music and dance. Instruments, shoes, voices, and whole bodies enter into conversation with one another, creating complex sonic textures and vibrant visual interplay which sit firmly within the bounds of tradition while continually testing those bounds. www.fromthefloordance.com

deCordova’s programs are designed to welcome a wide range of ages and abilities. Please contact [email protected] to discuss reasonable adaptations to benefit anyone in your group.
