Curated Cuisine is WBUR CitySpace's monthly series featuring conversations with renowned chefs around the country.
Join Sheryl Julian, former Boston Globe food editor, for a discussion with Irene Li, food critic for WBUR's The ARTery and co-owner and operator of Mei Mei, a restaurant and food truck catering business serving up creative Chinese-American cuisine made from locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. The food truck opened in April 2012 and was awarded Boston's Best Meal on Wheels soon after. The restaurant, named Eater Boston's Restaurant of the Year, opened in November 2013 and serves up casual counter style lunch and dinner. Mei Mei’s work has been featured by Food & Wine, Eater Boston & National, The New York Times, Restaurant Hospitality, People, Bon Appetit, The Boston Globe and more.
Irene is also co-author (with her siblings Andrew and Margaret Li) of the new cookbook, "Double Awesome Chinese Food: Irresistible and Totally Achievable Recipes from our Chinese-American Kitchen."
A reception with free food from Mei Mei will follow the discussion.
