Cultural Constructions: Diverse Voices of Islam II feat. Burcu Gülec (Turkey), Darsono Hadiraharjo (Indonesia), Boujemaa Razgui (Morocco), & Balla Kouyate (Mali)

Cultural Constructions was created to provide an opportunity through concerts and workshops for musical artists and their audiences to experience and learn about music of different cultures. Through a multicultural environment, this concert aims to promote an understanding and appreciation of cultural differences, to create an interaction between musicians from different traditions, and to provide a setting for these musicians to reach out to an audience who would not normally be exposed to such music. Diverse Voices of Islam is a culmination of this exchange, featuring music from Turkey, Burcu Güleç; Indonesia, Darsono Hadiraharjo; Morocco, Boujemaa Razgui; and Mali, Balla Kouyate. These artists will share the rich diversity of sound and song from their parts of the world, exploring the musical tapestry of Islam.
