As you soar through nebulas, galaxies, and star systems in the immersive space under the dome of the Charles Hayden Planetarium, live music with simple beginnings builds layer upon layer into an intricate universe of musical loops created by masters of an evocative style. Acoustic double- neck guitarist Ian Ethan Case uidly combines a wide variety of self-invented playing techniques necessitated by his multi-layered compositions, further expanded by live sound designer Stephanie Case using real-time live looping technology. Indulge in this special trio performance with standout NYC-based drummer Jharis Yokley, in which cutting-edge electronics and rare acoustic instruments pair with the Planetarium team’s transcendent visions overhead to transport you to a new dimension.
