Who doesn't adore a fresh-from-the-oven cookie, baked to perfection? If you love the cookie life like we do, join us to learn how to make Kitchen Millie's signature two-bite cookies! Fresh, soft, and incredibly delicious, Kitchen Millie will walk through all the steps it takes to make the perfect cookie that's just the right size to have one (or five).
This
sesh will be held at The Local Fare, an awesome shared commercial kitchen for up-and-coming food brands & a weekend pop-up store in Arlington. Once everyone has a glass of complimentary wine or beer in hand, we'll dive right in with a history of how KM got started. Fun facts will be shared about The Local Fare and Kitchen Millie as well as FAQs answered about food startups in general from KM's experience working around other amazing companies!
Next, we will walk through every step necessary to make a delicious cookie -- from how to best soften butter (and how soft it should be!) to the art of rolling dough balls, to getting the perfect bake. Each class will make three types of cookies. Depending on the group size, we'll split into two teams for each recipe, with each group tackling wet or dry ingredients (and then switching for the next recipe so everyone gets to learn it all.)
Types of cookies:
• The Unrivaled Classic - Our take on a classic chocolate chip
• The Sugar Blizzard - A buttery sugar cookie topped with cinnamon and flaked sea salt
• The Buzz - Our crowd-pleasing brown sugar beer cookie made with Night Shift porter
We’ll end the evening with a taste test of the freshly baked, still warm cookies to compare notes on favorite flavors and textures. Plus, someone has to finish the can of Night Shift Awake when we make The Buzz! Each participant gets to assemble a platter of 3 dozen cookies to take home and spread the cookie love -- or eat in the car. 😋
