Join us on Sunday, February 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the beautiful historic Richardson Building at Thomas Crane Public Library for our Winter into Spring Music Series featuring Gaelic Americana musician, Kyle Carey.
Kyle Carey’s unique trans-Atlantic fusion includes influences of the American Folk Anthology, the traditional music of Cape Breton, Ireland and Scotland, and the Appalachian poetry of Louise McNeill.
As a young woman, Kyle traveled to Cape Breton on a Fulbright Fellowship to learn Scottish Gaelic. Afterwards, she spent a year on the Isle of Skye in Scotland—honing her skills in the Gaelic language and studying traditional singing techniques. To date she has released three albums—Monongah, North Star, and The Art of Forgetting. All critically acclaimed, and all a direct and compelling expression of her distinctive ‘Gaelic Americana’ sound.
Please note that capacity for this event will be limited and masks are recommended. Doors will open 15 minutes before the start of the program.
This In-Person performance will also be livestreamed to our YouTube channel.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.
