In 1924, the women who formed the Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club had a vision to save the Loring Greenough House from development and demolition, preserving it for the benefit of Jamaica Plain neighbors. We want to honor their vision of a social hub for education, preservation, and community that sits at the heart of JP.

Thursday, August 22, 4:00 - 8:00pm, will be a special Thursdays on the Lawn as we throw a free party celebrating 100 years of community at The Loring Greenough House!


Along with the usual Hive Beer Garden, food trucks and face painting, we'll have some one-time-only surprises! Attendees will have a chance to learn our unique history and share special memories of their own connection to the house to be included in our oral history project that will be preserved for future generations. The grounds will feature games, activities, and other festive mementos from the 1920s through 2020s! Costumes representing any decade from the last 100 years are encouraged!


Meet up with friends and neighbors, explore the LGH garden and enjoy one of Jamaica Plain’s best community gathering spaces!


Every week neighbors from near and far gather to meet and socialize among the historic and treasured gardens of the Loring Greenough House.


Food trucks! Drinks! Music! Space to picnic and play!
