Feeling stressed about final exams and papers? Students at the Colleges of the Fenway are invited to take a break at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. On Friday, Nov. 17, the Museum is hosting “De-stress at the Gardner,” a special event for students to experience much-needed respite in the Museum’s exquisite galleries. The event is open to the public; university member students receive free admission.
Throughout the afternoon, students can participate in colorful art-making in the Living Room. A “Self Care” table will be in the Courtyard where students can pick up reflective looking prompts or clues to a gallery scavenger hunt and listen to Charles Overton, a Boston-based harpist and performer of classical, jazz and world music, who will perform in the Courtyard. Donuts and tea will be available in the Greenhouse classroom.
From 1 to 2 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m., students can close their eyes and snuggle with therapy dogs in the Studio.
There will be two free 30-minute gentle yoga and mini-meditation sessions in the expanse of light-filled Calderwood Hall. Sessions will be first come first served.
“De-stress at the Gardner” runs from 12 to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors; and $5 for students. Admission is free for all university member students with a valid ID. Click here to see if your college is a member.
