Recently, more attention has been paid to women in the art world, from artists to curators to those in leadership roles. However, the unique role women play as collectors of art and material culture is often still overlooked. Join the Nichols House Museum on Tuesday, June 19th at 6:00pm for “Collecting Conversations,” a panel discussion centering around women collectors today. The panel will feature private art consultant Andrea Marquit Clagett; Georgina Winthrop, Fine Art Director at Grogan & Company; Carey Vose, Gallery Director at Vose Galleries; as well as the Nichols House Museum's own Charlotte Wittmann, a collector. “Collecting Conversations” is the first event in a series of programming related to the Nichols House Museum's exhibition "Their Objects, Their Stories: The Nichols Women as Collectors, 1870-1960" on view June 8-October 13, 2018.
Free and open to the public but space is limited. Click on the link to register.
