On July 23rd, members of Extinction Rebellion Boston and the Honan-Allston Public Library will gather together for the inaugural session of a brand new Climate Action Circle and Reading Group!
Over the course of the Climate Action Circle, we will investigate a curated selection of texts & readings that relate to the Climate Emergency and inform Extinction Rebellion Boston's theories of change. These will include political & organizing theory, social movement history, nature writing, and more. During the inaugural session, we will look at a handful of excerpts from various texts & essays together and provide an overview of XR's Recommended Reading List, so don't worry about coming prepared. Over subsequent Circles, we will discuss sections of books that were assigned previously. As the workshop progresses, we will utilize our reading to inform our strategizing as we brainstorm & ultimately implement non-violent direct action in Allston!
If you are an existing member of Extinction Rebellion Boston and have a book recommendation that you would like to share, feel free to email [email protected] with the title & a brief description.
Sign up now to RSVP & stay tuned for further details.
