Come and create a clamshell box to house a book, photos, or anything you’d like to squirrel away! Learn about grain direction, tips and tricks for cutting and gluing, and how to measure an object and cut board and materials to fit so that you can continue your box making adventures at home. All tools and materials for the class will be provided and no prior binding experience is necessary.


Kate Levy is a professional bookbinder specializing in new bindings, box making and book repair.


Albertine Press is a letterpress print & design studio and paper boutique located in Inman Square, Cambridge, carrying cards, prints, desk accessories, gifts, and curiosities for the paper obsessed. When not designing wedding invitations or peddling artisanal wares, the studio hosts a variety of workshops and events to encourage our community to be creative, share space, and start some great conversations.
