The New England Whale Festival lands at Marina Bay on Saturday, June 22 and features a Cisco Brewers after-party tap takeover at Victory Point’s scenic boardwalk bar. Victory Point's outdoor bar and lounge overlooks Boston Harbor, the Harbor Islands and the marina's fleet of luxury yachts.
Cisco will pour five of its Nantucket-brewed favorites at Victory Point, including fruity and fun-loving Gripah Grapefruit IPA, easy-drinking Grey Lady Ale, robust, full-flavored Getaway IPA, environmentally conscious Shark Tracker Light Lager and long-time Cisco stand-out Whale’s Tale Pale Ale – a perfect choice at the New England Whale Festival.
"It's only natural that we celebrate the New England Whale Festival here on the Massachusetts waterfront with world-class beers from the great whaling town of Nantucket," said Victory Point co-owner Donato Frattaroli Jr.
The festivities began at 9 a.m. with a Wollaston Beach clean-up party that kicks off outside Tony’s Clam Shop (861 Quincy Shore Drive). The festival moves to Marina Bay at 11 a.m.
The Cisco after-party begins at 3 p.m. at Victory Point’s boardwalk bar (332 Victory Road, Quincy; 617-481-1070).
The Frattaroli Family of North End restaurant fame purchased the former Captain Fishbones at Marina Bay in 2017. They rebranded the space Victory Point in 2018 – a tribute to the neighborhood’s history as the home of a military airfield and the Victory Destroyer Plant shipyard.
They introduced this spring a new menu that pairs classic North End-style Italian and Italian-American fare with local seafood befitting the restaurant’s scenic waterfront location.
Victory Point features a 90-seat dining room and bar, with almost every seat affording a view of the water; an outdoor boardwalk bar and lounge that seats an additional 90 guests; private dining space on the boardwalk level; plus a new upper level private-event Victory Room with grand views of Boston Harbor and the Harbor Islands.
