Somerville Community Access TV brings you its last movie from the Cinema Somerville Outdoor Movie Series. The event series is free and is open to the community-at-large. On Thursday, September 22nd we are screening "The Stranger" (1946) starring Orson Welles. Rain Location is @SCATV (90 Union Square).
Screenings start at 7:30pm with a BYOPicnic and will play at 8:00pm (dusk). Seating is limited; moviegoers are encouraged to bring their own portable seats, blankets, and lawn chairs.
ABOUT: The Stranger is a 1946 American film noir starring Edward G. Robinson, Loretta Young, and Orson Welles. It was Welles's third completed feature film as director. A drama about a war crimes investigator who tracks a high-ranking Nazi fugitive to a New England town, it is the first Hollywood film to present documentary footage of the Holocaust. The original story by Victor Trivas was nominated for an Academy Award. The film entered the public domain when its copyright was not renewed.
