After you wake up a bit foggy still in your Derby hat, it’s time to put the “hair of the dog” theory to the test and get right back in the saddle because City Tap House is taking a trip south-of-the-border in a tequila-fueled Cinco de Mayo celebration. Don your best sombrero and enter the Fort Point fiesta, decked in festive décor, to taste some twists on Mexican fare like the lobster guacamole ($23) with fresh lobster meat, cilantro, jalapeño, onion and tomato served with corn tortilla chips; steak tacos ($23), a trio of sirloin tacos with fire-roasted corn avocado salsa, lettuce and chipotle aioli with hand-cut fries; crispy fried half-chicken ($19), prepared spicy with pimento cheese and hand-cut fries; and BBQ pulled pork sliders ($20), three mini sandwiches with house-marinated pork and pineapple slaw on brioche buns with hand-cut fries.
On the bebida side, there’s the Fiesta Margarita ($14) with jalapeño-infused El Jimador silver, lemon juice, agave and orange bitters with a dehydrated lemon garnish; Señorita’s Sangria ($14) with pinot noir, Grand Marnier, brandy, mint simple, orange juice, and a splash of lemon-lime soda with a strawberry, blueberry and pineapple garnish; and Pin the Tail on the Paloma ($15) with Herradura silver, coconut rum, grapefruit juice, a splash of lime juice and a coconut rim.
